Thothus - My Lovecraftian Love Story

My very first Zbrush project that I started way back in January to learn how to take a character from start to finish in a high poly context. It was incredibly informative and I had a blast making this creepy guy.

Final Poly Count was around 100K. The sculpt was around 80M so i'm lucky I have a computer that want explode at those kind of poly counts.

This creature was based on my love of terrifying monstrosities that are vaguely humanoid. I designed every part of this myself

A lot of these skin details were gotten from Jay Hill's skin brushes which are excellent. If I were to remake this I would make 2 different shaders, One for the blood on his skin and one for his skin so that they feel like different parts of him.

Overall the form i'm pretty happy with, I did a lot of mishmashing different animals for different parts of my guy.

I wish I did more wiht the underside of his face, but i'm not sure what I would do. Maybe a mouth there? Nobody would ever see anyway

This image really shows off all those high details I made thorughout the process. It was so fun to make his weird knees with eyes in them.

I definitely could have done more with the feet. Maybe adding some lines cutting across them to accentuate the roughness.
